Data Plate
The data plate contains the serial number (product identification number) for each individual machine, and is required when:
Contacting Epiroc for support
Ordering components or kits
Creating records
Maintaining records
Wagon Frame with Wheels
The wagon frame consists of:
Diesel engine
Chassis
Dust collector
Hydraulic system
Air system
Boom system
A traction gear in which the brakes are integrated drives the four wheels individually. The body covers the diesel engine, the compressor, the different lubrication tanks, the valves, and the hydraulic hoses. Inspection hatches facilitate access to the different machine components. The tailgate is set in open position using a gas strut. Other hatches have a lockpin. Dust collector is attached at the rear of the machine to the right side.
Power Pack
The water-cooled diesel engine powers the hydraulic drill rig.
The turbocharged, water-cooled diesel engine with an afterburner chamber to reduce emissions, powers the hydraulic drill rig.
The diesel engine is equipped with a monitoring system that includes automatic shutdown functions.
Four traction motors with gears connected to each wheel powers the drill rig. The traction motors are fitted on the wheels.
The diesel engine drives the hydraulic pumps and the compressor.
Boom System
The boom system consists of:
Inner and outer boom bodies
Boom head
Feed holder
Associated hydraulic cylinders
The directional valves controls the boom system for positioning the feed with rock drill.
Electrical System
The 12-V electrical system is supplied with current by an alternator and two batteries.
Starting equipment
Work lights
Electric controls
Safety devices
The emergency stop buttons and cables are connected in series with the diesel engine cut-out system. When an emergency stop button or cable is activated, the diesel engine is stopped immediately. Reset the emergency stop buttons before restarting the engine. The engine cannot be started while one of the emergency stops is still activated.
Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system comprises:
Four hydraulic pumps
Oil cooler
Hydraulic oil tank
Valves
Hoses
The hydraulic pumps create hydraulic pressure as follows:
Pump Number | Description |
|---|---|
1 | Drill feed, rapid feed, percussion, and tramming |
2 | Feed positioning, DCT, tramming at high speed |
3 | Boom positioning, jacks, rotation, and winch |
4 | Cooling fan motor, hydraulic drill rod support, and hydraulic drill holder |
Hydraulic Pumps
Main pump 1 in the hydraulic system is a gear pump. The pump supplies hydraulic power to the following functions:
Rock drill, percussion
Rock drill, feed
Tramming
Hydraulic pump 2 supplies hydraulic oil to provide power to the dust collector fan motor, feed positioning and for tramming with high-speed gear.
Hydraulic pump 3 supplies hydraulic oil to power the rock drill rotation motor and to power the winch and boom positioning.
Hydraulic pump 4 supplies hydraulic oil to power the cooler motor and for the combined oil cooler. This pump also supplies hydraulic oil to power the drill rods holder and the hydraulic drill rod support.
Hydraulic pump output (2200 rpm)
Pump Number | CC | Flow (liter/min) | Pressure (bar, max) |
|---|---|---|---|
1 | 22 | 44 | 230 |
2 | 11 | 22 | 230 |
3 | 10 | 20 | 230 |
4 | 11 | 15 | 115 |
Air System
The air system consists of the compressor with oil separator, hoses, and valves. The compressor is belt-driven from the diesel engine. An air-oil mixture lubricates the compressor element. The mixture is separated in the oil separator. The system delivers air for flushing the drilling hole, cleaning the dust collector filter and to the rock drill lubrication system (ECL). For pump configuration, see separate instructions.
