Preparations Before Hoisting

WARNING

Risk of Crushing

Crushing can cause serious personal injury or death.

  1. Use extreme caution when slinging and hoisting heavy objects.

  2. Hoisting must take place at the center of gravity.

  3. Only use slings that are intact and designed for the load they will carry.

  4. Fasten the straps to lifting eyes, if available.

  5. Do not approach a suspended load.

Before transporting in shafts or similar, it is necessary to disassemble the machine fully or partially.

Observe the following when disassembling, hoisting, and assembling:

  • Clean the entire machine with water and detergent containing a grease solvent before disassembling.

  • Mark hoses, pipes, and other connections to make reassembly easier and prevent mix-ups.

  • Make sure that everything is clean when disassembling hydraulic, compressed air, and water flushing hoses. Immediately plug all hoses, nipples and hydraulic oil pipes, or seal.

  • Use properly secured lifting device of generous dimension.

Hoisting Drill Rig

WARNING

Suspended Load

Suspended load can cause serious personal injury and property damages.

  1. Do not approach a suspended load.

  2. Only use lifting devices and hoisting slings with adequate hoisting capacity.

  3. Lock the track oscillation cylinders before the drill rig is raised.

  1. 1.
Position the boom, feed, and rock drill so they are in equilibrium.
  2. 2.
Support the boom and feed with straps if necessary.
  3. 3.
    Lift the machine.

    NOTE

Make sure there are no hoses, controls or any other components that can fasten or be damaged when the lifting straps become taut.

Before Loading Machine onto Transport Vehicle

  1. 1.
Run the rock drill to its highest position. Use the controls for the boom and feeder alternately to position the feeder in the transport position.
  2. 2.
Check that the drill steels are positioned with the sleeves facing forward.

Transporting Position

WARNING

Tipping Risk

Can cause serious personal injury and damage to property.

  1. Transportation equipment must be adapted for the dimensions and weight of the machine.

  2. All bodywork hatches must be correctly installed and locked.

Towing Machine

WARNING

Moving Parts

Can cause serious personal injury and damage to property.

  1. Place a wedge under the four wheels before disengaging the traction gears.

NOTE

Tow with a rigid tow bar. The maximum permitted speed when towing is 3 km/h.

Precondition

  • The traction gear must be disengaged on the wheels to tow the rig.

  1. 1.
Remove the two M8 bolts (A) from the cover plate.
  2. 2.
Remove the cover plate and turn the outside inwards.
  3. 3.
Refit the cover plate with the two M8 bolts.
  4. 4.
Repeat the procedure for the other wheels.

Secure Machine onto Transport Vehicle

Precondition

  • The diesel engine is off.

  1. 1.
Strap the machine securely to the transport vehicle. Tighten the straps or chains on the load securing points.
  2. 2.
Check that the front jacks are secured in the raised position so that they cannot fall down during transport.
