Error Messages
The following screen is supposed to be shown on the remote control during start-up if the remote control is working. The figure 0 (A) gives an indication that there is no error message and the remote control works normally. If 0 has changed to another figure, then the Epiroc service organization must be informed for troubleshooting.
The message is shown during engagement if the levers are not in start position.
Release the levers for the message to disappear.
The message is shown in the event of a lever fault. Communication is disconnected.
Restart the remote control in test mode and check the levers.
The message is shown in the event of low battery level.
Replace the battery.
The message is shown when radio communication is interrupted.
Approach the machine for automatic reconnection.
NOTE
The blue indicator lamp on the remote control flashes when communication is weak.
The message is shown if the wrong button or button combination is pushed when the remote control is started.
Restart the remote control.
The message is shown in the event of a fault in the button.
Go to test mode to check the buttons.
The message is shown in the event of unpermitted inclination of the remote control. The remote control loses control and shuts down the current function.
Set the remote control correctly. The message disappears and control of the remote control is restored.
The message is shown in the event of a fault in the remote control.
If the error message remains after restart, contact the Epiroc service organization.
Timeout Function
The remote control has a timeout function. When the remote control has not been activated for 15 seconds the levers become inactive. Reset with the horn button , Enter key or by changing mode with the switch.
Using Start-Up Function
Precondition
The switch on remote control panel is in tramming position to enable start-up of the remote control.
- 1.Start the remote control by holding the remote control ON and OFF button
pushed until the display is switched on.
NOTE
The levers must be in start position when the radio box is started.
- 2.Transfer control to the remote control by pushing drill rig or remote control switch
.
NOTE
The indicator lamp
flashes before the remote control has taken control. The indicator lamp
comes on when the remote control has taken control.
- 3.Start the engine by pressing start and stop button
.
Stopping System
- 1.Switch off the diesel engine by button
.
- 2.Switch off the remote control with button
.
- 3.Switch off the CAN system with the key.
Stop Drilling or Rotation
The following functions for stopping drilling or rotation are unique on the remote control. Move the right-hand multi-function lever to sector (B) to stop the drilling or rotation.
When adjusting the angle of the feed with the mode switch (Q) in position drilling , the mode switch must be changed to position positioning
. With continued drilling with the mode switch in position positioning
, the left multi-function lever (P) and the right multi-function lever (R) deactivates after 5 seconds of inactivity. The function stop drilling or rotation works regardless of the mode selection of the mode switch (Q).
Display Heater
If the temperature falls below approximately -9 °C (15.8 °F), the display heater is switched on automatically. The symbol (A) is shown in the display. The heater is also switched off automatically around approximately 0 °C (32 °F).
If the battery starts to become discharged and the battery warning is shown, the heater is switched off despite the temperature needing the heater. This function is to avoid affecting the use of the remote control. The battery time decreases when the heater is running, the amount depending on the temperature and the length of time the heater is running.
If the remote control has a heater, the symbols for OFF and ON appear as follows:
If the remote control lacks a heater, the symbol appears as follows:
Replacing Remote Control
Use the learn link routine for replacing the remote control. Learn link connects transmitter (rig) with receiver (remote control). After the procedure the rig addresses to the new remote control.
- 1.Switch off the control system on the rig.
- 2.Remove the end resistor on the CAN BUS coil, which is located at the aim device (D569).
- 3.Connect the learn link cable between the radio box and the CAN BUS coil.
- 4.Start the control system on the rig.
- 5.Start the remote control in learn-link mode by pressing button
and
simultaneously until the "Start learn-link" view is shown on the display.
- 6.Press Enter to start Learn Link.Step result
Now the transfer of data starts. The transfer is complete when the following image is shown on the display:
- 7.Switch off the remote control with the emergency stop.
- 8.Switch off the rig control system.
- 9.Remove the cable and put the end stop on the CAN BUS coil.Step result
Now the rig is ready to restart.
Using Cable to Remote Control
If the communication between the machine and the remote control ceases to work or if the remote control is not permitted by local regulations then a cable can be connected for operating the machine. The cable can also be used for the remote control when its battery is discharged.
To use the cable to the remote control proceed as follows:
Connect the cable between the remote control and the radio receiver on the machine.
Activate the remote control as usual.
NOTE
When using the cable make sure that the machine does not run over the cable!
